How to Start Bible Journaling & Resources I Use | Bible Study Girl Gang

Let’s be friends!

@biblestudygirlgang

Hi I’m Lacie! I am creator of Bible Study Girl Gang (or BSGG for short). I started this page in 2019 and asked the lord to do with it as he chose and he has far exceeded what I thought it could ever be! On BSGG Instagram I share my bible study notes, resources I love and use, and a little bit of my personal life with you guys! Please don’t hesitate to drop me a message in my Instagram DM’s to say Hi or ask questions!

Have you wondered how to study the Bible? Where do I even begin? What resources should I use? What do I take notes on?

I’ve compiled a list of my favorite Bible Study & journaling resources and I’m going to share with you how I study the Bible!

Q & A:

  • Where do I need to start to be able to get the most out of what I am reading?

How I started studying the Bible was having a journaling Bible and a study Bible. I have 2 study bibles that I use frequently. One study bible goes into depth on scripture practically verse by verse. That is this one

The second study Bible I have is a Q&A style which is what I had to start with first and LOVED IT!! It was if every question I had this study bible had it and the answer on the side columns.

  • When you take notes in your bible what exactly are you writing?

When I take notes I am writing down what I learned from my study bibles from the explanations they give, I take notes from a sermon at church, and Bible studies, even from Bible commentary’s.

Enduring Word Commentary app is a great resource!

  • What books will help me study the bible?

I always always always HIGHLY recommend The Daily Grace Co studies! You will see me share their studies all the time.

I use the LTK app to link everything I share about.

  • did you know i share all of my bible study notes with you on this blog?

I started a bible reading plan back in 2022 to finish the Bible in a year, and well 2 years later I’m still working my way through. AND THAT’S OK! Don’t feel like you have be done in a year to grow closer to God. If you find yourself staying longer in a passage or studying a piece of scripture longer than others, then do so!

As I finish a book of the Bible I take all of my study notes from my Bible and create a PDF download for all of you to print and use yourself during your studies!

  • Can you recommend a bible reading plan for me?

Absolutely! It’s never too late to start. Bible Study Girl Gang has it’s own “Read The Bible In A Year” plan.

  • Do you have any other resources you recommend?

The Bible Project is a super cool resource! They provide an animated summary video on each book of the Bible with a free printable overview at the end of each video!
